Arapahoe Wrestling Update- 11/29

28 Nov 2021 by Steve Sisler

Greetings,

Week one of competition is upon us! This will be a big week for all of our Warriors and families.

A few very important reminders.
Wrestlers must have their weight sheets signed and returned in order to compete this week. We reprinted all sheets for wrestlers that were at practice on Saturday that hadn’t yet returned them. If you haven’t completed the hydration test/body composition test, you will need to do so Monday.

Mouth Guards- Wrestlers with braces must wear mouth guards to compete in matches. I suggested they start using them right away to get used to them.

Wrestle Offs- We will begin wrestle offs this week. Monday and Tuesday are dedicated to deciding our lineups for this week. Wrestlers may have to wrestle multiple times a day in order to complete our lineups. Please make sure you have filled out the Google Form.

Culture Builder:
For Centennial League Duals, our team dresses up in formal attire. Shirts & Ties, or jackets, and we ask the girls to dress nice as well. Thursday, all Warriors should be dressed up. If you need a tie, please see me (I have many to share). Friday, Warriors should wear Arapahoe swag.

Warrior Invitational Help
Thank you in advance for all the help and donations. We couldn’t do it without you! If you haven’t signed up to help, please consider being part of this wonderful event.

Warrior Invitational Sign-Up Genius

We will be asking wrestlers that are not competing to volunteer a bit of their time on Saturday. This is a great way for our younger wrestlers to see high level competition and support their teammates. Wrestlers will be helping run tables and clean up after the tournament. We will handle the signup sheet during practice on Wednesday.

Practice Attendance:
It is a continued expectation that wrestlers attend practice. If you are absent, it may result in you not getting to wrestle off, or compete. Please let me know if you are going to be absent. Monday evening, there is the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. I am pleased that some of our wrestlers are going to be inducted this fall. However, I do expect them to be at as much of our practice as they can. Wrestlers with jobs should have communicated with their employers to eliminate conflicts. Like I mentioned at the information meeting, the quarterback doesn’t get to miss practices and then take the snaps on Friday night.

It’s A Great Week To Be A Warrior!
